Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info — email, username, display name, and anything you add to your profile (bio, avatar, cover photo).
• Content — books, chapters, reviews, club posts, and reactions you create.
• Reading activity — bookmarks, reading progress, and chapter completion, so you can pick up where you left off and we can show "Continue Reading".
• Payment data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Paystack; we store the subscription status and transaction reference, not your card details.
• Device/usage data — basic technical data (device type, app version) used for crash diagnostics and improving the App.

2. How we use it

To operate the App (show you books, track your reading, run book clubs), to moderate uploaded content, to process payments, to send you notifications you've opted into, and to respond to support requests or copyright complaints.

3. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share what's necessary with the infrastructure that runs the App: Supabase (authentication and database hosting) and Paystack (payment processing). Your public profile, reviews, and published books are visible to other users by design.

4. Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account (or the equivalent in the mobile app). This removes your profile, bookmarks, reading progress, reviews, club memberships, and notifications, and disables your sign-in immediately. Books you've published stay live, reattributed to "Deleted User" with no other personal information, so that other readers' bookmarks, reviews, and reading progress on those books aren't destroyed. We may retain minimal transaction records where required for accounting or legal purposes.

5. Children

The App is not directed at children, and some content is intended for adult readers. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, hosted authentication via Supabase) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
